Sustainable Development?

One of the original and probably the best known descriptions of sustainable development is credited to the Brundtland Commission.

“Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”

Put simply, sustainable development seeks to steer human behaviour so that we might live within the carrying capacity of our planet.
